Ribbon and Bath Salt and Bingo, Oh My!

Happy Sunday!

I'm up bright and early and just about ready to head out of my walk with Doodle Dog before it gets too hot.  Going to be a lovely, 27 degrees Sunday- woo hoo!

It's been a crazy busy week that has had my multitasking skills stretched to the max!  No one thing, just lots and lots of little, time-consuming fun.

I got all of my ribbon in for my ribbon shares.  First cutting ...
.. then sorting ... then wrapping.
Next up is packaging and labelling, finishing with mailing and pick up!

Oh ... I have another Ribbon Share being ordered today ... Canadians who would like in on it drop me a message!  $65 for a whole SWACK o' ribbon!

Rebecca had a fun week as they celebrated the end of the year with some fun activities and and award ceremony.  She won an award for the top achievement in her grade for Construction.  She (and her wood-working Papa) were over the moon!
I spent the better part of Tuesday night making bath salt gifts.  How cute are THESE?
I have a case of the great little jars I swiped from my Dad's stash.  The hold the perfect amount of sweets ... or salts ... for gift giving.  For the bath salts I used:
1/4 c epsom salt
1.5 tablespoons baking soda
2 drops essential oil (I used a floral scent but any would work)

I decorated the jar with some Lemon Lime twist DSP (from theEastern Palace DSP), a punched out label from the Label Me Pretty Bundle (stamped in Berry Burst ink) and a sentiment from the Eastern Beauty stamp set.  ***  Using Fast Fuse tape or Tear and Tape is a MUST for this project.  Even though I "curled" the card stock with my bone folder snail just doesn't hold more than 24 hours!

I finished it off with a rhinestone and some bakers twine.

I had a boo boo this week ... caught my nail on Koda's leesh and bent it backwards half way down my pinky.  Youch!  Couldn't type with it for 2 days!
Had another epic Bingo Night Friday ... but I was having so much fun I forgot to take pictures!

I DID take pictures of the quick and easy projects we made though ...

I'm tellin' ya - our Notecard and Envelopes are the BOMB for quick and easy cards!  I was designing these at 1:00 pm the day of the bingo (bingo was at 6:30!)  LOVE them!

It was a fun, albeit busy, week ... and it will be even busier THIS week with Rebecca writing all her exams (and coming home at 11:00 each day) and Alicia having non stop activities .. games day, field trip, Grade 6 Farewell, lunch out with friends and last day party.  I still have teacher gifts to complete and package up, memory books to have signed, cards to make and write, "grad" presents to package up ... and a Doodle to walk so I better get on with it!

Whatever you get up to this week, have a stampy one!

Bright Wishes and Crafting Forever

Happy Sunday!

... and Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's out there!

Craig is sleeping in and, once I finish this post, I'll walk Doodle Dog so I can get back and start making brunch.  Our Dads are coming over so we can pamper them with food, coffee and *maybe* a rematch of some Crib.  We seriously are so blessed to be able to call these men our dads.  Two of the very best men around :)

So today I am FINALLY sharing a card I made quite a few weeks ago ... I just never got around to sharing it.  It uses the new set Bright Wishes ...
I love this card!  I hemmed and hawwwwed a lot when I first saw this set as to whether or not to get it.  I thought it really was a bit of a "one trick pony", but I just loved the image so I got it.  It's kinda like a bag of chips ... when you CRAVE the chips you might as well just HAVE the chips cause you know EVENTUALLY you're gunna.  Right?  Same thing with me and stamps.  I'll EVENTUALLY get it so let's just buy it now and get it out of our system ... and it's calorie free! *lol*

For this one I simply silver embossed the image, matted the layer on Basic Grey card stock and colored the flowers with my Real Red and Wild Wasabi markers.  I popped up sentiment and some bling jazz it up a bit.  I love the simplicity and the little pop of color.

I played with this set for quite a while, actually, and I have a few other totally different ideas I still have to perfect before sharing.  However!  I DO have a second one to share that I'm SUPER excited about!

I recently saw cards popping up on Pinterest using the pen from the new Crafting Forever stamp set.

When I first saw this set at On Stage back in April I was on the fence as to whether or not I would get it.  I wasn't sure I'd use it that much.  Now I need it, if only for the pen image!  Check out what I did with it ...
Hee Hee. Love it!  Now I realize it would be better if the pen was a pencil but we'll overlook that, right?

I just think I'm so clever only HALF stamping the Bright Wishes image.  PERFECT for the lazy stamper *lol*.  I used Basic Grey ink for the well.  I tried using Smoky Slate to make it a lighter, more "pencil-like" shade but to be honest the ink was too juicy and although I wouldn't say it "bled" I didn't get the crisp lines I wanted.  To fade the color out a bit I used a finger dauber to soften the edge of the ink.

I used Berry Burst ink for the sentiment (from Work of Art) and Berry Burst and Lemon Lime Twist markers for the pen.  Yes, I used old fashioned paper snips to cut it out.  I used the edge of my bone folder to curl the pen just a little, and only taped it down on the tip so it popped up off the page ever so slightly.  Three colored enamel dots bring in a little more color, texture and interest.  I matted it on Berry Burst (which I now realize I didn't order more of on yesterdays order!!) and popped the whole thing up on dimensionals.

I really love the final result.  Clean, quick and easy.  I have SO MANY line art sets that this would work well with.  The From the Herd set, the Peacock, lots of flowers sets ... Time to dust a few of them off and get busy!

So that's it for today.  Wishing all the dads out there a fantastic, stampy day!

Eastern Beauty Bundle

Happy Wednesday!

A beautiful 29 degrees is the forecast for today - gunna be a LOVELY walk with Doodles this morning!

Another video showing the Eastern Beauty Bundle.  I must admit, when I first saw it I thought "Oh.  Good.  Another medallion set."  ** insert sarcastic tone and eye roll here ** ... but being the addict I am I bought it anyway.  Ya.  I apologize to the medallion Gods.  I was wrong.  So very, very wrong.  We made this card at class last night ...
There truly are SO many variations of the medallion design you can make with this bundle.  Love it!

Here are all four cards we made last night .... and are making again Friday.  If you are in the Edmonton area and want to come along send me a message!

Soft Sayings All-Inclusive Card Kit

Happy Sunday!

I'm yawning like CRAZY this morning and really wasn't done sleeping.  Alas, I'm one who really does rise and set with the sun so around 5:00 a, I start to stir.  All good!  I get to spend a few hours in the lovely quiet, drinking coffee with my favourite fluffy sidekick.

Yesterday was my annual Open House / Catalogue Launch / Retired Product Garage Sale.  As ALWAYS it was a great time and I loved having it on a Saturday rather than my traditional Friday.  Thanks to all who came!

I wanted to show a video of the very first item I ordered from the new catalogue back in April, when I was able to PREorder a number of items.  It's the Soft Sayings All Inclusive Card Kit.  Check it out ...

I love love LOVE kits and this one made me squeal!  As was mentioned in the video, not only can you buy the all inclusive kit but you also have the option of buying REFILL kits (ie no stamp set or ink).  LOVE that!  Loved it SO much THIS is the product each of my 16 Bingo Stampers will receive for my upcoming Stamping Bingo events.  I only have TWO spaces left for the June 30th event so Edmonton peeps, make sure you RSVP this week if you want in on the fun!

I'll leave you with a peek at the displays / tables I had set up at my Open House.  Alicia (my 11 year old) did a GRET job setting things up for my garage sale.  She was NOT impressed, however, when I told her I had to move everything so I could PRICE them!  *lol*  Her solution was to just have everyone come up to me and ask me the price during my event.  Ya no.  Sorry Dear ... had to take it all apart and price it!

I'm off to walk Doodles.  Have yourself a stampy Sunday!!
