Sale-a-brations 2023 - Stampin' Creative Global Blog Hop

Happy Blog Hop Day!
Each month my friends from around the glove and I bring you projects made with Stampin' Up! products around a common theme.  This month the theme is "Sale-a-bration", in anticipation of the promotion that begins January 5, 2023.  I LOVE this theme, as there are SO MANY great SAB items to choose from this year.  Creating was CRAZY easy!  Check out THIS lovely card!

Do you like it?  I kid you not, it took me about 8 minutes to whip up, from start to finish!

The stamp sets I used are both FREE, with a minimum qualifying order.  The image set is called "In the Country".  At first glance I thought "Meh.  It's pretty but a but of a one-trick-pony".  Once I had a good hard look at it, though, I realize it is NOT!  There are LOTS of techniques you can use with this set!  Spotlighting, watercolouring, embossing ... honestly, it's a very versatile set!  When you spend $60 CDN (pre tax and shipping) you can get this set for free, starting January 5th, 2023.

Here are the VERY basic measurements:

Very Vanilla Card Base:  8 1/2" x 5 1/2"

Soft Suede layer:  3" x 4 1/4"

Very Vanilla top layer:  2 3/4" x 4"

Natural Finish Ribbon - 4 1/2"

I wanted to stamp the card base first, to give a "fuller" image look ... so I stamped the base three times with Soft Suede ink; once on the far left, once on the far right and once in the bottom centre.  Yes, it looks a but of a hot mess but that's ok - the layers will cover the nasty part!

SO easy!
Then I stamped the image on the top Very Vanilla layer and adhered it to the Soft Suede layer.  Before popping the layers up on dimensionals, I stamped on the Natural Ribbon in Soft Suede.  The sentiment is from the second Sale-a-bration set I used, "Sending Support".  What a great set!  I was pleasantly surprised that the ink didn't bleed when I stamped on the ribbon!  Once stamped, I used Tear & Tape to attach the ribbon to the card layers.  Some Rustic Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots and a sentiment inside finish it off.  BAM!  A gorgeous, "sepia tone" card done in 8 minutes.  LOVE!

So there you have it; a SAB card you can use for SO many occasions by just switching out the sentiment.  Good for a masculine card, sympathy, just a note, birthday ... pretty much covers the full range!

Thanks for popping in.  Now hop along and see what my friends have to share with us!

North Pole Mischief - Kylie's Trip Achievers Blog Hop

Happy Blog Hop Day!

Each month, my demonstrator friends and I bring you projects we've created using Stampin' Up! products.  We hope we can inspire and delight you with what we share.  We love getting feedback, so please don't hesitate to leave comments as you hop along :)

I'm SHOCKED, but MY share this month is a Christmas card.  Ya.  I was pretty sure I was DONE with Christmas cards on the 19th of December!  After all, as most of us card makers know, we tend to start creating for Christmas in July or August.  By December we are ITCHING to create for "anything but"!  THIS week, however, I REALLY wanted to add ink to a stamp set I bought late in the season and hadn't been used yet.  I grabbed my "North Pole Mischief" stamp set and came up with this little cutie ...

LOVE LOVE LOVE it!  Yes, I love colouring so this image is PERFECT for me.  I *may* have made 12 of them while watching Christmas movies with My Girl.  I also managed to use up another sheet of my Santa Express Designer Paper.  Score!  Use it before it retires, Tamara!

Here are the dimensions for you ...

Basic White card base:  8 1/2" x 5 1/2"
Shaded Spruce layer: 3 5/8" x 4 7/8"
Basic White top layer:  3 1/2" x 4 3/4"
Parakeet Party strip: 1/4" x 3"
Shaded Spruce Strip: 4 3/4" x 1/2"
Santa Express Strip: 1 1/2" x 4 1/2"

The Blends markers I used:
Light & Dark Poppy Parade
Light & Dark Shaded Spruce
Light and Dark Gray Granite
Light & Dark Crumb Cake
Light Soft Suede
Dark Tahitian Tide

The image was stamped in Basic Gray ink.  I prefer that to Black.

To finish it off I used the 2022-2024 in colour matte decorative dots.  To make the colour a bit more intense I used my dark Poppy Parade and dark Parakeet Party Blends on them.

The Shaded Spruce layer and the animals are popped up on dimensionals for a bit more interest.

No, it's not a quick card if you are making multiples but it IS a fun one ... and fun to make whilst watching movies.  I hope I've inspired you to ink up a not-yet-used Christmas set this week.  It's not too late!  You can absolutely send holiday cards AFTER Dec 25th.  The "season" lasts beyond one date.

Thanks for popping in.  Hop along to see what my friends have created for you ... and Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to All!

Sweet Gingerbread Shaker Card - Kylie's Trip Achiever's Blog Hop

Happy Blog Hop Day!

Each month, my Demonstrator Friends and I bring you projects we've created using Stampin' Up! products.  We hope we can inspire and delight you with what we share.  We love getting feedback, so please don't hesitate to leave comments as you hop along :)

My share today was inspired by the amazing Martine Stone, an amazing UK based Demonstrator over at martinsmahem.co.uk.  Here is my card ...

Martin's card used the same mix of colours: Blushing Bride, Soft Sea Foam, Crumb Cake and Early Espresso.  I changed up the colours of the layers but drew my inspiration from his card.
I added the twist of turning the card in a "shaker" card.  I'll add my YouTube link to My "Check It Out Tuesday" video where I made this card live, to show you how.

If you haven't made one of these kinds of cards before they are quite easy!  In a nutshell, the top layer is placed on one of our Clear Envelopes, you add in sequins (I used our "For Everything Fancy Sequins) and secure the envelope with tape on the back of the bag so everything stays in place.  SO FUN!

Here are the dimensions of the layers I used:

Blushing Bride Card Base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"
Soft Sea Foam Layer - 3 3/4" x 5"
Crumb Cake Layer - 3 1/2" x 4 3/4"
Painted Christmas Designer Paper Layer 3 1/4" x 4 1/2"

The house is cut out of Crumb Cake card stock
The trees are cut out of Blushing Bride card stock
The door and windows were stamped on Crumb Cake using Early Espresso ink and die cut
The room , door/window outlines and "squiggles" were heat embossed with White Embossing Powder
The sentiment was stamped in Early Espresso Ink, on Painted Christmas DSP and punched out with our Double Oval punch.

This isn't a card you would want to mass produce but it sure is fun to make and packs a real "WOW!" factor.  Give it a try!
