Masculine Makes - Stampin' Creative Global Blog Hop

 Happy Blog Hop Day!

Each month, my "Stampin' Creative" friends from around the globe bring you projects around a common theme.  With Father's Day fast approaching I was thrilled that the theme THIS month is "Masculine Makes".  We hope that our projects give you some inspiration for your OWN projects, as you hop through our blogs.

Here is a VERY quick and easy card I came up with this week, during my "Mystery Card Monday" free online crafting "class".  I love it!
It was seriously the EASIEST card to come up with!

In case you aren't familiar with my Mystery Card Monday events, here is how it works.  Every Monday, in the early afternoon (in Edmonton, Canada .. Mountain Time), I post the "recipe" for the card we will make later that night on my Facebook Page ("Tamara's Paper Trail").  Everyone preps the pieces and the, at 7 pm MT we get together on Facebook and I walk them through how to put the card together.  Of course everyone uses different papers and colours and such so the variety of cards made is WONDERFUL!  I post MY completed card and those who played along post THEIR card in the comments.  It's so fun!

These are the pieces I used/posted for my event this week:
This was the card I made from those pieces:

I then go one to make several MORE cards, using the same general "recipe" but with different papers.  The Masculine card was made from that!  It's the PERFECT "guy" card!  Of course I'll use this for a masculine birthday but I plan to make a few more for Father's Day, which is less than a month away!

Fun, right??  Here are the others I made ...

Sooooo many options!  This layout works with ALL of our papers!  You just need to switch out the die cuts, stamp sets and embellishments for an entirely new/different look!

The products I used for my masculine card are noted at the end of this post.

So this month you got MORE than just a Masculine Make - you got FIVE cards in one post lol.  I hope it brings you some inspiration!  Now hop along and see what my friends have for you ... and have a stampy day!

One of a Kind Prince & Princess - Kylie's Maui Achievers Blog Hop

Happy Blog Hop Day!

Each month, Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the globe share projects they've made using only current Stampin' Up! products.  We hope you get some inspiration as you hop from blog to blog.

The project I made to share used one of the Hostess Sets at the back of the 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue, called Prince and Princess.  All Hostess products can be purchase at a discounted price, when you host a qualifying party or place a qualifying order.  This particular set goes for $14 Hostess Dollars.  It's a GREAT value, as the set is worth $24! ... but I digress!  Check out the card I made!

I LOVE this card!  It's actually one I originally made for a Canadian Maui Achievers Card Swap.  I got to play with so many new products!

  • I started with a standard card base in Basic White measuring 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", folded in half
  • I ran that base through the Cut & Emboss machine with the Meadow Moments embossing folder.
  • I cut a layer of the DIVINE new Soft Succulent card stock, measuring 3 1/2" x 4 3/4".
  • I cut a layer of the EQUALLY DIVINE new Evening Evergreen card stock, measuring just "two ticks" smaller than the Soft Succulent layer, so 4 1/2" plus two ticks x 3 1/4" plus two ticks.  (In grown up language, that is 4 5/8" x 3 3/4").
  • The top Basic White layer measure  3 1/4" x 4 1/2".
  • I ran the top layer through the Cut & Emboss machine with the Meadow Moments embossing folder along the top of the paper.
  • I then worked on the bottom of the layer, using my Blending Brushes and Soft Succulent ink.
  • I stamped the water in Evening Evergreen.
  • I then stamped the swan image on the new Shimmer Vellum paper in Evening Evergreen ink.  Because the vellum doesn't absorb the ink, it stays wet for quite a while.  This allows lots of time to cover the image with Clear Embossing powder and heat set it.  I prefer this method, over using Versamark, for a few reasons.  Firstly, I don't love using Versamark with photopolymer stamps.  They just don't seem to clean well.  Secondly, when I stamp using the INK, the image can be green.  We don't have a green embossing powder so I couldn't get the same effect an other way.
  • Next I grabbed a good movie and my paper snips and I fussy cut 20 of those gorgeous little swans!
  • To attach the swans I put a pool of Multipurpose Liquid Glue on my silicone mat, grabbed a chunk of sponge and dabbed the back of the swan, covering it completely.  I then stuck it to the card layer.
  • I made a 2" x 1/2" banner, stamped the sentiment and popped it up on mini dimensionals.
  • Some of our Champagne Rhinestones finished it off.

Ta da!
The shimmer of this vellum is STUNNING!  Pictures don't do it justice.  I'm not usually a vellum-lover but THIS stuff is a "must have" item!
If you are in Canada and don't have a demonstrator you work with I would love to me your gal!  Click on any of the items at the end of this post and you'll be taken to my online store.  Every online order gets you a special Thank You gift in the mail from me!

I hope my card has given you some inspiration!  Now hop along to see what my friends have created for you ... and have a stampy day!
