Ballet Beauty - Kylie's Trip Achievers Blog Hop

Happy Blog Hop Day!  Thanks for popping in :)

Every month top Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the globe come together and share projects using only current Stampin' Up! products.  Our goal is to delight and inspire you with our projects.  Maybe you will CASE them exactly.  Maybe they will get your creative juices flowing to try a new colour combination, a new technique or ink up that stamp set that has yet to be opened.  We love getting feedback so leave us a comment!

This month I wanted to challenge myself to use a set from the Jan-Apr Catalogue that I hadn't used yet.  I admit I had SEVERAL to choose from (so many stamps, so little time! lol) but this one screamed ME ME ME!  So I grabbed it and started playing.  This is the set ...

This set was one I bought in my original preorder! ... so back in December, 2022!  I knew I 100% wanted it so I could create cards to share with my dance-mom friends ... but, to be honest I wasn't sure WHAT to do with it! ... so it just kept sitting on the shelf.  Sound familiar?  Not today, Joe!  Today we inked this little lady up .. and I came up with two cards that aren't my usual style, but that I quite like!  Here is the first one I came up with.

Quite simple, really.  I started by using my large Blending Brush and adding some Blushing Bride to the centre of my card stock.  I stamped the "dance" sentiment in Smoky Slate ink randomly.  I stamped the ballerina in Smoky Slate on Basic White card stock and fussy cut her out.  She got popped up on dimensionals.  I used my Multipurpose Liquid Glue to attach three For Everything Fancy Sequins to the front.
I put a strip of Tear and Tape down the left side of my card stock, then stuck it in the For Everything Fancy Sequins, pressing them firmly into the tape to secure them.
The white layer was taped to the Blushing Bride layer, which was taped to a Basic Black layer and the whole thing was popped up on dimensionals.  quick and easy!

Dimensions:
Basic White card base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"
Basic Black layer - 3 5/8" x 4 7/8"
Blushing Bride layer - 3 1/2" x 4 3/4"
Basic White top layer - 3 1/4" x 4 1/2"

The second one is fairly quick as well, although it took me about an hour of "tweaking" and "fussing" to get to the final product.  here it is ...
I stamped the three images in the set on scrap Basic White card stock and cut them out with the 3rd smallest (1 1/2") stitched square in the Stylish Shapes dies.  I cut Smoky Slate layers of 1 1/2" plus 2 ticks (1 5/8" in grown-up language) and attached each image to a layer.  I stamped the sentiment in Smoky Slate on the 3 3/4" x 5" layer and then ran that through the Cascading Ruffles 3D Embossing Folder.  That layer was attached to the Blushing Bride 3 7/8" x 5 1/8" layer and then that was attached to the card base using dimensionals.  the top left image was taped down.  The other two were popped up on mini dimensionals.  I liked the sequin element on the first card so did the same on this one.  I added a strip of Tear & Tape and then dumped the sequins on top and pressed them down firmly to secure them.  I used liquid glue to add sequins to each of the image squares.  I used my Light Flirty Flamingo Blend marker to add just a touch of pink to the shaded areas of the images, just to tie pull the pink into the card a bit more.  A bow of Silver Elegant Trim finished off the look.  I love the final look!

So there you have it!  Two lovely cards for the dancer in your life, or for a friend who needs some encouragement.  Don't be afraid to grab a set and just play.  If you struggle with using that set STICK WITH IT!  Challenge yourself to make TWO cards.  It really stretches you and you never know, it could become your newest favourite set.

Thanks for popping in.  Hop along to see what my friends have created for you .. and have a stampy day!
