Right At Home for on the move ...

Happy Wednesday!

This week has me confused.  The long weekend threw me and I keep thinking it's Tuesday … and now tomorrow I'm heeding off to Grade 5 camp with Alicia's class/school for 2 days so really, I only had a 2 days week!  So much for all that relaxing I got in over the weekend - it's been "all systems go" the last 2 days!  I can't complain, though.  It's been a "fun" action packed 2 days.  Today I spent 3 hours hand delivering the all new 2016 catalogue to my favourite peeps, had coffee with my dear friend Helen (love you xoxo) and generally had a busy, but happy day.  Just finished packing for camp and am now counting down the minutes until bed time!

Oh!  This morning I discovered that there is a GRET promotion happening in June!!!  Anyone who purchases the Starter Kit (or "Try It Kit", as I like to call it) gets to pick out TWO stamp sets OF ANY VALUE … and that's on TOP of the $155 of product they get to chose for the FLAT price of $135.  You know what that means??  If you picked two $68 stamp sets for free you would be getting $291 worth of product for the FLAT price of $135.  What????????  That's just crazy!  Crazy AWESOME!!! Can't beat that deal with a stick, as Dad would say!  Bring on June!  I can't wait to hook my friends up with Kit.  I get no perks for them buying it (i.e. no commission) but I encourage everyone to buy it because it is the biggest bang for their buck.  Been thinking about buying the kit?  Don't think about it - just DO it!!!

OK - I didn't pop in to ramble on about that (I'll do that June 1st *lol*).  I came to share another project I made last weekend.  One of my best friends just bought a new house … and sold her current house.  It is SUCH an exciting thing for her and her family.  They are moving up from a "starter home" to a much larger home that is just PERFECT for them.  I am SOOOOOOO stinkin' excited for them that you would think it was ME who was embarking on the great adventure!!  Well I couldn't let the event pass without making her a special card.  So that's what I did…
Super Key-ute, right??

I used a stamp set that retired donkeys-years ago, called "Right at Home".  I tried very hard to use the retiring Happy Notes set but just couldn't get it right … so I grabbed this old set.  I think I've only ever used in twice before but just love this image so have been holding on to it.  I'm glad I did :)

I stamped the image in Staz-on black ink and colored it with my Bermuda Bay marker and my Gold Wink of Stella en.  I punched the image out with the 2 1/2" circle punch (SO sad that punch is retiring!!!!)  I cut a strip of 1 1/2" x 5 1/4" It's My Party DSP and a strip of 1/2" black that I just free-hand cut shorter than the Bermuda Bay DSP banner.  I coloured the retiring Expressions Natural Elements ($6.25) embellishments (low in stock so if you want any you better order then NOW!) with a finger dauber and black ink.  I then used my Tombow/Multipurpose glue to attache it.  Oh - the image is popped up on dimensionals.  I added some gold sequins for a finishing pop of gold.

I love how it turned out … so I made 5 more for my stash :)

That's it for the cards I made this last weekend.  Hopefully I get to play again this weekend … assuming I survive camp with 60 ten-year-olds, that is.

Wish me luck … and have a stampy night!

Swirly Bunch

Happy Monday!

Gotta love a long weekend … even if it IS raining for the fourth day straight!  I'm not complaining - I LOVE RAIN!  … and we soooooo need it!  It was such a warm winter we had very little snow … and we have had virtually no rain all spring.  The fire ban has been lifted (yay!  We can have a fire at Grade 5 camp this week … unless it's still pouring rain that is!)  I sure wish Fort McMurray was getting some of this rain - they only got about 1 mm as of yesterday.  Sigh.  Those fires are still burning :(  Hopefully today they will get more to put that beast out so the city can start to rebuild (they started last week but the 8,000 workers were evacuated AGAIN due to the thick smoke!)

Nothing on the calendar again for today …. so more Craft Cave time!  I did get down yesterday but all I managed was to put together my May Paper Pumpkin (so cute!) BUT I made a lot of progress on organizing!  Yes I have now successfully filed all my scraps of Whisper White card stock.  I know, I know "Hold me down I can't stand the exciement!!"  *lol*  Seriously - this darned 1" strips are the bane of my existence!!  They (along with all the 1 1/2", 1 1/2", 1 3/4" and 2" strips) are happily tucked away in their own zip lock bags.  ONE day I'll start using them *lol*

I DO have a projet to share, though.  Saturday night I was playing with my Swirly Bird and Swirly Scribbles bundle of toys (seriously - you gotta get them - available June 1!)  Look what I came up with this time ..
Love it!  (ya - I know - I say that about every card I make lol)

This card took quite a while to create ... it was so therapeutic!!  I wanted to find a way to use the stripey-squiggles in black.  I cut out three different pieces and played … and played … and played.  In the end I loved the simple, single squiggle on an angle.  I used "Grateful Bunch" stamped in black for the flowers (and punched out with the corresponding punch), coloured the centres with Flirty Flamingo (another new In Colour) and popped the medium and large one up on dimensionals.  The wee flower is attached with a glue dot.  The sentiment is from my other new stamp set Thoughtful Banner … another "must have" set starting June 1.

The black layer measures 5" x 3 3/4" and the white layer is 4 3/4" x 3 1/2".

That's it!  Another quick, clean "swirly" card.  Any questions?  lol

Hoping you have some fun on your long weekend … make it a stampy one!

Swirly Tree

Happy Sunday!

Another PERFECT Sunday!  It's chucking down rain, cold, nasty and I LOVE it!!!

Heading down to the Craft Cave shortly but thought I'd take a minute to share what I made yesterday.  As I only bought two new stamp sets on the pre-order I have had a LOT of time to play with the Swirly Bird set and Swirly Scribbles Thinlits.  Kinda love this duo!  Check out THIS easy peasy card …
Super LOVE!  So crisp and clean!  So quick and easy!

I busted into my new In Color pack of Emerald Envy green card stock.  I was pretty convinced I wouldn't use this paper until Christmas - green isn't my "go-to-color" normally.  I originally found it fairly "burn-your-retina" intense green … BUT … I'm kinda hooked on it now that I've had a chance to play with it and on this card it's pretty stinkin' perfect, wouldn't you say???

I used the Swirly Scribbles thinlit for the tree top and the Tree Builder Punch in Chocolate Chip for the trunk (you want to cut a 1.5" strip of paper to put in the punch so you don't waste card stock - anything wider and you get all the other pieces punched out too … and you probably don't need a brown tree top, apple, bird or leaf *lol*).  The wee Real Red heart is from the Owl Builder Punch.

I used my fine tip glue pen to attach the tree top and trunk .. and a glue dot for the heart.

The sentiments are from my fairly-new Endless Thanks set (REALLY not sure why I waited so long to order this set - love it!) - stamped in the Emerald Envy ink ...
That's it!  The top layer is a 3 1/2" x 5" piece of Whisper White on a Whisper White base.

A four minute card that is key-UTE!

I made another quick and easy card (well, it took me about 1.5 hours to come UP with but it is another four minute card to put together *lol*)  Pop in again soon to see that one (yes - it uses the same Swirly Scribble thinlits but is a completely different look … quite the versatile product!)

Hope you get some crafting in today … have a stampy afternoon!

Swirly Bird CASE

Happy Friday!

Wow … I TOTALLY don't know what to do with myself today!  Craig has the day off work … and it's raining.  That means he's stuck inside … that means CLEANING!  Yes, my husband is a woman's DREAM when it comes to chores.  I swear, the man does more housework than I do!  It wasn't 8:30 am and he was already steam cleaning the basement carpet!  Now don't get me wrong - I'm NOT complaining … just stating that when there is a man in the house where there usually isn't one it throws a woman's natural rhythm of her day off just a bit!  We can't let them see what we actually DO in a day, right??  *lol*  He threw my schedule off even further by walking the dog for me!  Now THAT was great in that it was pouring rain out … and I really wasn't eager to do it.  What that meant (to my schedule) was things were totally out the window and  was left floundering with what to do with all this free time I had on my hands!  I did some paperwork, sent a few emails, did my usual upstairs organize/tidy.  Figured I'd had a full day already and it was only 10:24 am!  LMAO.  Good problem to have, right?

Well … with wet carpets and all my chores taken care of before 11:00 am there was only one thing left to do … HIT THE CRAFT CAVE!  WA-HOO!

I went down for a few hours last night for a little light "putzing".  I pulled all my retiring In Color toys (*sniff* - my favourite batch of In colour stuff EVER!) … used my label maker to label my finger daubers … put the stickers on the new In Color ink pads … labelled all my new 2016 catalogues …  Having done all that I got to just PLAY this morning!

I can't take credit for this little beauty - it's a total CASE from the all new 2016 catalogue.  No need to reinvent the wheel … this card is perfectly delicious just as it is!  Check it out …
Wow.  Love love love love LOVE it!  The only thing I changed from the picture in the catalogue is a) they embossed the little splotches in gold embossing powder and b) they used a different "thank you" sentiment and banner.  The rest is identical.  LOVE!

I can't show you pictures of all the toys I used (forbidden until June 1) … but I can tell you about it!

I used a whisper white base and a layer measuring 5" x 3 3/4"
I sued a new stamp set and Framelit combo called "Swirly Bird", the framelits are called Swirly Scribbles.  They are on pages 152 and 194 of the catalogue when you get it.  They are bundled to save money if you buy them together at 10% off - so $59.25 (Canadian) - plus s/h/gst.  Not cheap but a GREAT investment.  This set/framelit combo has LOTS of options, including birthday, mother's day, baby cards, thank you … the list goes on and on.  You can make little bird in a nest, a sailboat on water … it's one to get - VERY versatile!
I used another new bundle for the Thank You sentiment and banner - page 73 and 186 of the new catalogue - stamp set is called Thoughtful Banners and there is a coordinating Banner Duo punch.  Again, bundled at 10% off for a togal of $44.50.  Just about every greeting/sentiment you can think if is covered in this set and because the set is photopolymer you can bend the sentiment to curve with the banner, like I did with the Thank You above.  The stamp is straight, but when you mount it in the block you just bend it to the shape you want it.  Brilliant!

The colours I used were Watermelon Wonder, Daffodil Delight and (new) Peekaboo Peach.
I stamped the background swirls into the ink pad and then "stamped off" on scrap paper before stamping on my layer.  The peach swirl has a second, "full strength" peace image stamped on top of the background splotch.
I used the thinlits (along with my precision plate and Big Shot Brush) for the swirls in Daffodil and Watermelon.  I used my fine tip glue pen to attach them to the card.  There are some subtle splotches stamped as well - those are in Sahara Sand ink

I stamped the banner in Pear Pizzazz (as well as the leaves) and punched the banner out with the Banner Duo punch.  I stamped the Thank You in Basic Black.  I popped the banner up on dimensionals.

For the finishing touch I added some gold sequins, using glue dots (I also used glue dots to attach the leaves.

This card is a little more high-maintenance than I like … but I had the time … and I absolutely LOVE the final product!  Im trying to decide if I want to make 25 of them for my club gal treats or not.  I mean one was fun but I might want to sell the set if I make 25 of them *lol*.  Hmmmmm - we'll see …. I DO love my gals ….

Right - while I ponder that I'll let you go.  Whatever you get up to today I hope it's a stampy one!

I'm Bringing Birthdays Back!

Are you having a birthday this year? lol - of COURSE you are!
Are you happy that you get 102 Facebook “Happy Birthday!! Hope you have a great day” messages on your Facebook wall but find that the only birthday card you get in the mail is from your Life Insurance Agent?? Ya - kinda sad, isn’t it.
Remember YEARS ago … you had a mailbox full of mail and when you heard the “ping” from your computer you were excited because “YOU GOT MAIL”??
THESE days we have nothing but bills and pizza coupons in the mailbox and we turn off the sound on our computer so we don’t go nuts from the constant pinging that “we’ve got mail”!
I love my friends - and my customers. I love sending birthday cards. It’s like getting a hug in the mail. It is SO much more important to send/get cards in the mail these days than it was in the past. Why? Because no one seems to have time for ANYTHING anymore. Getting a card in the mail means someone took time out of their day to stop, think about you, get a card, address it, throw a stamp on it an walk it to the mailbox! It says “You are important to me”. It means they didn’t just see a birthday cake on Facebook and then realize it was your birthday … and sent a quick note on-line.
I’m not the only one who feels this way! Stamping’ Up! is starting an “I’m bringing birthdays back” revolution - and I’m helping them do it!
WOULD YOU LIKE TO RECEIVE A HAND STAMPED CARD IN THE MAIL ON YOUR BIRTHDAY? Of COURSE you would! I’d be happy to send you one! I’ll even write a birthday message on a post-it note so you can re-cycle/re-gift the card to someone else … the card is also my gift to you
Just email message me (unless you want EVERYONE to know your deets) with your full name, mailing address and date of birth (no, you don’t have to put down the year *lol*) and I will do my very best to get you a card in your mailbox on, or before, your birthday! … and if life gets in the way and I’m late - we’ll … I’ll send you a happy belated one instead lol.
No catch, not obligation - I just want to mail you a card on your special day.
Do it!

Enjoy the Little Things Bookmarks

Happy Sunday!

Just realized I didn't do my usual "it's Sunday morning and I'm killing time until my people wake up" post … so I'll now do a "it's Sunday evening and I'm killing time until it's social acceptable to got to bed" post - *lol*

I got some much needed stamping time in this weekend.  I had my class Friday night and got to meet some LOVELY ladies (and the sweetest little 6 year old!) who were staying with one of my stampin' gals - they are just a few of the 88,000 Fort McMurray refugees - thank God their house is still standing but they are displace for who-knows how long.  My lovely friend, never having met them before, agreed to open her home to them.  It was an honour to give these ladies a night out for a creative escape for a few hours.  They had never stamped before … and they LOVED it!  They were truly naturals and could tell they were instantly hooked!

I spent a few hours yesterday making up the "extras" I had cut.  A rest way to spend a Saturday evening!

I didn't create anything you haven't already seen … but do have one last "old" project I wanted to share with you.  These are what I popped in my customers' bags this month ….
Aren't they pretty??  I just LOVE how they turned out!  I wanted (as usual) a quick, inexpensive little "something" to pop n the bags … 'cause (as usual) I wanted to make 25 of them.  I had the idea of a quick and easy bookmark.  Well, once I got started the EASY held but the "quick" .. well .. not so much!  They did take a while to put together … but they were so worth it!

I started with the bookmark itself.   I wanted something a little sturdier than regular card stock… and I never DID get around to buying our "heavy" card stock … so instead I grabbed the backing that comes in every pack of our beautiful designer series papers!  I cut  6" x 2" strips (using our old guillotine style paper cutter) and then used the scalloped topper punch to scallop the top :) I then cut the same size strips out of the delicious AND RETIRING Bohemian DSP.  The plan was to add some ribbon and stop there … but I couldn't do it!  I tried stamping on the DSP … but it was either lost, or too busy … so I flipped it over and stamped the back..  Bam!  Loved it!  I played around a bit.  I WANTED to use the matt (non-shiny) side as the ink would dry quickly … alas … look at the difference ..
The image on the left shows how vibrant the Blackberry Bliss ink is on the SHINY side of the DSP backing … the image on the right is when I stamped on the matt side.  No-brainer.  I HAD to use the shiny side.  The downside was it took forEVER to dry … even when I used my heat gun to speed things up!!!  A nightmare … but a labor of love.  I HAD to have the vibrant sentiment!

For the swipe I used my beloved Perpetual Calendar set (have I convinced you yet to get this set???  I used it ALL THE TIME!!!!!)
Gosh … what colour did I use for that … I THINK I went with Crushed Curry … even though the yellow in the DSP is Delightful Dijon.  I then stamped the dragonfly from Awesomely Artistic in Island Indigo

.. added splotches from Gorgeous Grunge in Blackberry Bliss …
… and then added the sentiment from Enjoy the Little Things (RETIRING IN 2 WEEKS - ONLY WHILE SUPPLIES LAST!!!)

I used three different ribbons for the top - the retired cotton ribbon, the retired Blackberry Bliss 1/4" ribbon and the retiring gold bakers twine.  It's hard to see in this picture but I added some our current gold twine (wrapped around the sentiment) before I taped the DSP on the back.  I finished the whole thing off with a little pop of bling from our lonnnnnnnnggggg ago retired glimmer brads (starting to use up some of the stash of embellishments I've been hoarding - make me happy to USE these little beauties!)

And BAM!  Hours later (ok - 2 days later lol) I was done!  Yes, time consuming but it was SO therapeutic making these!  I got to play with so many of my favourite toys .. and I loved them so much I even used one myself for my Disneyland book that I was reading on the plane.  It made me smile every time I opened the book :)

So that's it for tonight.  It's now 8:34 pm and time to go watch the Spring Baking Championship finale with my Little Leeshy Loo - THEN bed!

Thanks for popping in … hope you have a stampy week :)

Fort McMurray Inspired Serene Silhouettes Card

Happy Friday!

I seriously can't BELIEVE it's Friday!  This week has flown by at break-neck speed.

Let's just say Rebecca and I had a BALL in Disneyland.  It was everything I hoped for!  I wanted to see a few more smiles from My Girl but I realize, now, she was well and truly EXHAUSTED the entire time!  She hadn't had a decent sleep in WEEKS … never recovered from her birthday "sleep" over the weekend before and was just totally bagged.  Despite that she went hard every day.  We got to the park at opening every day and stayed until closing.  The second and third day we did take a 2 hour break for a swim back at the hotel but that was more ME needing the rest than her.  I needed a 10 minute power nap then we were off again.  Here are some of my favourite shots from our time together …

On the plane ...
 Day 1 - California Adventure (not-so-patiently waiting!!)
 Love this pic!

LOVE these two pics together.  I just HAD to post it on my Facebook page with the caption "What a difference a day makes!"  LMAO - cracks me up every time!

A pic with the Mouse that started it all ...

Another EPIC pic!  Hysterical!  This was on the Cars Speedway Racers ride.  Doesn't get any better than that!!!
… and I was trying to recreate my favourite Disney shot from 2010 … our first trip to the Magic Kingdom.  This is Rebecca when she was 7 … and now at 13.  I couldn't quite remember the angle in my head … pretty close :)

Over the last week I have chipped away at putting all my pictures into my Project Life app.  I have used it for other things but never actually printed anything.  My plan was to print out a little album for Rebecca.  I'm about 2/3 done.  Love the app!
It is so quick and easy!  I had all the pictures into layouts before I even landed back in Canada.  I have put in the journalling cards and journalling as I've been waiting at the school, waiting at singing lessons, waiting at doctors appointments … again, quick and easy.  Alas … I think I will only print out one page.  I costed it out at Costco … each 12" x 12" page is $6.99 … and I have about 15 pages … so it will cost over $100 to get them printed!  To print the 4" x 6" pictures and put them into my Project Life sleeves will cost $.70 for the pictures (and the cost of the cards and sleeves, of which I have a huge stash of downstairs already).  So … back to "old school" albums (which I DO love they are just not as easy t do "on the go").  I DO want to print out at least ONE 12" x 12" page, just to see how it looks … and then to price out any cheaper alternatives.  Truly - SO quick and easy!

Right!  You didn't come here just to hear about my trip … you want to see a project!  Well … I've got ya covered on that!

As you probably have heard, up here in Northern Alberta, the town of Fort McMurray has been on fire for over a week.  Rebecca and I left the day it started and we had constant updates from Craig while we were gone.  In a nutshell … 88,000 - 90,000 people were evacuated (the ENTIRE town … including patients at the hospital!)  No deaths, 2 births.  10% of the town was destroyed.  2,400 buildings have been destroyed … but 90% (24,000) buildings are still undamaged (or at least not touched by the fires).

The entire country has risen to help those affected.  It truly is mind boggling to watch on the news.  The refugees are now able to access pre-loaded debit cards and there are LOTS of donations of items needed.  The entire operation and man-power required is staggering.  I have a number of friends who have Fort Mac residents staying with them.  Some of these refugees are their family/friends, some my friends had never met before.  People are opening their homes, wallets and hearts to help in any way they can.  Residents won't be able to return for weeks or MONTHS, as recovery and repair of the damage has only just begun.

ANYway …. when I came home Monday I needed to make a third card for my class Tuesday night.  I had originally planned a fun, bright card.  Alas, I was in a very sombre mood and bright and perky just wasn't in me.  Instead I wanted a soothing, neutral loving card.  I turned to pinterest for some inspiration.  I came across a few … as I started CASEing them I came across a card I loved … and coincidentally it was a card I had created a few years ago.  Remember this one?
This card was created back in October 2013.  You can check the original post out here.  To date it has had 17,296 hits on my blog.  Seriously???  It's VERY popular. I stared at it and thought it would be a lovely card to CASE … so I did.  Here is what I came up with …
Love.  I came up with about 7 different versions - one with a yellow shaded square, a smaller shaded yellow square, a Mint Macaron shaded circle, a Lost Lagoon shaded circle, no shaded circle or square … and on and on.  In the end my favourite was this one.  It just strikes me.

I used the retiring set Serene Silhouettes for the flowers and and Rose Wonder for the sentiment.

First - measurements … the base is
Whisper White - 5 1/2" x 4 1/4"
Black Layer - 5 1/4" x 4"
Smoky Slate Layer - 5" x 3 3/4"
Top Whisper White layer - 4 3/4" x 3 1/2"

First you make a mask with the (RETIRING!!) 2 1/2" circle punch.
Using a finger dauber you gently ink Smoky Slate through the circle mask, using circular motions so you don't leave any harsh lines in the shading
(Why do you do the shading first instead of the image stamping?  You do the shading first just to make sure the image doesn't smudge.)
Once you have your circle shaded you stamp the image (I like to use the Stamp-a-ma-jig to get perfect placement on this one as my Serene Silhouettes is a wood mounted set) and then stamp the sentiment (remember to use your pierce mat when stamping with your photopolymer sentiments!)

To finish the card off I used my Clear Wink of Stella for some shimmer on the black flowers.  I also added three rhinestones to the flowers for a subtle sparkle.

Love love love this card
I would send one to every Fort Mac refugee, if I could.  xoxo  Love and prayers to each and every one of my Alberta 88,000 brothers and sisters.

So that's been my week!  I hope yours was quick, that you got some crafting in and that you have an exciting weekend planned.  Whatever you get up to, I hope you have a stampy time!

Remarkable You is Remarkably Fabulous!

Happy Tuesday!

Yes, busy, busy day … so naturally I'm blogging instead of doing what I should be doing … like pampering my husband with coffee in bed (it's his birthday), or walking the dog, or PACKING for Disneyland tomorrow … maybe exchanging some money would be a good idea … or printing the permission letter I need Craig to sign so I can take Rebecca out of the country …

Nah … blogging is more fun :)

I went down to make Craig a birthday card yesterday.  One word.
LMAO - got a *little* distracted.  This is what I came up with …
Bahahahahaaha!  Yes, nothing says "Happy Birthday Husband" like some lilies with a sympathy sentiment lol …

My Pal Wanda came to Craft Night last month and used this "Remarkable You" set and asked "Why have we never used this set??"  (in class before).  I didn't have any good answer for her … and when I went down to play … well …
I struggled (as usual) with the finishing touch.  I'm SURE it's lovely on its own but tried LOT of different things.  I settled on some silver thread but not before trying black sequins, white perfect accents, black ribbon, black bakers twine, white bakers twine, black/macaron bakers twine, Daffodil enamel dots …. I even tried splotches using the retired Luminate ink … I think it's good as is … or even without the twine.  Just not my usual style to be SO clean and simple …

So I stamped the image from Remarkable You …

with Black Archival Ink.  The image itself is two lilies.  I stamped a third and cut it out "old school" with my paper snips and popped the third one up on dimensionals.  I coloured the stamen (?) with Daffodil Delight and then accented each flower with my Smoky slate marker.  You can't tell in the picture but I also colored each flower with my clear Wink Of Stella.  Yup - I use that s*** on everything! lol

The sentiment is from another great set "You've Got This" …

The white layer measures 3 1/2" x 4 3/4" - the black layer measure 3 3/4" x 5".  The silver thread is wrapped around the two then popped up on dimensionals.  Bam!  Done.  Kinda love it :)

Well - I guess I should get my backside in motion.  Gunna be 28 degrees again today (?!?!?!  unHEARD of for Canada May 3rd!) and Koda isn't a fan of the heat with his big fur coat.

If I'm AWOL for a few days it's because I'm living the dream in Disneyland .. but who knows - I may need to procrastinate more a little later so might have a few more projects to share.

Have yourself a stampy day Friends!

Butterfly Swipe

Happy Monday!

Well yesterday was a very relaxing day .. and I got to spend some time in my Craft Cave.  The best part about that was I didn't feel there was any agenda - nothing I HAD to do … just things I WANTED to do.  Puts a whole different spin on the projects I create.  It was so relaxing!  Pop in again to see what I came up with - today I want to share the last of my "old" cards.  We made this one at class last month and I love it.  Thanks to Mary Wessling over at maryscraftroom.blogspot.com.au for the basic technique and idea.  I just tweaked her slightly by embellishing the corners and changing the sentiment. Here is my version ...
So quick, clean and simple.

Start by punching the corners with the (now sold out and retired) trio corner punch.  Then punch out a butterfly with your framelit.  SLIGHTLY tack it down on your card layer to hold it in place and then stamp the splotch (from Work of Art set) in different colours.  We used So Saffron, Watermelon Wonder and Mint Macaron.  The sentiment is from Timeless Love set ..

The top layer (5" x 3 3/4") is popped up on dimensionals for added interest.  Now that I look at it I can't believe I didn't add my standard 3 rhinestones or 3 sequins!  Next time!

That's it for my "old" stuff.  Pop in again soon to see some newer things.  Until then - have a stampy day!

Paint Splotch Fun!

Happy Sunday!

Here we are again - another week over!  This morning I feel like I've been hit by a bus.  Seven 13-year-old girls "slept" over.  Um hm.  "Slept" is a very subjective term around her, apparently.  Ugh!

So just a quick post of a card from Spring Break!  Remember I mentioned I did a class for a friend and her three lovely children over the break?  I need quick, easy and fun … this CASE from Jamie Ziemer over at closetstamper.blogspot.com fit the bill perfectly!
So simple!  I just used the splotches from Gorgeous Grunge in Daffodil Delight, Old Olive. Real Red and Bermuda Bay.  The only "hard" part is making sure the stamp is cleaned between uses.  ANY splash/splotch stamp would work - such a versatile layout!  I used my triple banner punch to make a banner, stamped the sentiment from Birthday Blossoms …. and popped it up on dimensionals.  Quick, easy, fun!

Uh oh - the girls are awake from their nap - gotta run.  Have a stampy Sunday!
