Happy Wednesday! Cold enough for ya? (as the "old folks" say ... and then they laugh, thinking they're funny lol) ... a crisp minus 31 degrees here in Edmonton today. Yikes! Stay home, you say. DONE! NOT leaving if I can avoid it! Nope ... I'll be in my craft cave finishing off 20 of the THESE adorable little treats. I showed you how to make them on my Live this week (links below!).
I was inspired by my friend Sheila Barnes, and a treat she had given me. They included four "Merci" chocolates. I instantly knew I needed to make some with a Valentine theme ... and here we are. This project is a GREAT way to use up small scraps of designer paper you have in your stash. Dimensions are below.
I made 2, 3 and 4 chocolate packs ...
All of them use the Take a Bow Designer Paper that was release in fall of 2024 but is currently still available in the online store. I LOVE that it was designed with Christmas in mind but the red papers absolutely work for Valentine's Day. I used retired red ribbon from my stash. I NEVER get rid of my red papers or ribbons for exactly this reason. Treats can use a lot of both so having lots on hand makes life a lot easier (and cheaper than buying new!)
The sentiment is from the Hugs for Love stamp set in the Jan-Apr/2025 Mini Catalogue ...
I wanted to try making a Spring Thank You with the new Storybook Friends designer paper .. here it is! I used the Thank You from the Sale-a-bration bundle, "Heart Shaped" (free with a minimum $150 CDN purchase). I love how it turned out! (with a die from Spotlight on Nature and Wild Wheat ribbon)
Here are your dimensions:
2 Chocolate Pack:
Basic White Base:
6 7/8" x 2 1/4" - if you want a slightly larger "flap" to stamp your sentiment on, make your paper length 7" rather than 6 7/8"
Score at:
3 1/2", 3 7/8" and 6 1/4"
Designer Papers:
2" x 2 1/8" (front)
2 x 3 1/8" (inside)
3 Chocolate Pack:
Basic White Base:
6 7/8" x 2 3/4" - if you want a slightly larger "flap" to stamp your sentiment on, make your paper length 7" rather than 6 7/8"
Score at:
3 1/2", 3 7/8" and 6 1/4"
Designer Papers:
2 1/2" x 2 1/8" (front)
2 1/2" x 3 1/8" (inside)
4 Chocolate Pack:
Basic White Base:
6 7/8" x 2 1/4" - if you want a slightly larger "flap" to stamp your sentiment on, make your paper length 7" rather than 6 7/8"
Score at:
3 1/2", 3 7/8" and 6 1/4"
Designer Papers:
3 3/4" x 2 1/8" (front)
3 3/4" x 3 1/8" (inside)
Now! Let ,me also say that the designer papers don't HAVE to be 2 1/8" and/or 3 1/8" tall. Why? Because the top flap will fold down and cover part of the designer paper! I used several scraps that weren't quite tall enough, per my dimensions above, but it didn't matter, 'cause no one could see that! I used up a lot of my papers this way, rather than cutting more 6" x 6" pieces with lots left over. Use what you have, Friends. Make it work!
They are so fun ... and EASY!
Here is the Facebook Live replay, showing you how to cut the papers and put all the pieces together. I actually tapes the flaps down with Tear & Tape, not dimensionals, as I found the dimensionals were popping up after a few hours.

Happy Wednesday! Cold, snowy and bad roads = stay indoors and CRAFT. Whoot! I can't TELL you how much I love "working" from home! Thinking I may make a few more cards using the layout from this weeks MCM Live. Check these out ...
Kinda love them! They are a Fun Fold layout came from my friend and "Silver Sister", Lisa Henderson. No shame in taking a layout and changing the pieces! (... but it IS proper etiquette to give them credit!). That's What I did here.
My first cards were made using Mediterranean Blooms and Market Garden papers, with the Citrus Blooms bundle.
The fold is a "Fun Fold" - crazy simple for a fun surprise opening.
This one uses the Wildflower Birthday papers and the sentiment is from Unbounded Love ...
I LOVE the Little Latte papers and (retiring) stamp set. I won't part with these beauties!
... and this is the card that I CASEd from Lisa, using the Ocean Friends products ...
Want to make your own version(s) of this layout? Here is the "recipe" of the pieces you need to prep ...
... and here is the Mystery Card Monday (MCM) Facebook Live replay, showing you how to cut the papers and put all the pieces together ...
