Magnolia Lane Desk Calendar and some Snowman Season Fun!

Happy Sunday!

Look at ME actually blogging on a Sunday morning!  I must be procrastinating on something *lol* ... or maybe the time change has me an hour ahead of schedule 'cause Lord knows I can't actually SLEEP that bonus hour!  hee hee.

Yesterday was more productive than I thought it would be!  Not only did I FINALLY
design my mailable Desk Calendars (ya ... for the class that is TOMORROW morning *lol*) but I also designed one of the cards for my Stamp-a-Stack that is NEXT Sunday morning.  Ya.  I realized Friday night that I have a class next Friday, my team Social next Saturday and my Stamp-a-Stack next Sunday ... and I had nothing prepared for ANY of them yet!  So ... I got up at 5:30 am (how sad is THAT??) and got busy!  I'll share my AWESOME desk calendar "how-to" on this Tuesday's "Check It Out Tuesday" Facebook Live video (hop over to "Tamara's Paper Trail" on FB at 7:00 pm mountain time Tuesday!).  Here is what it looks like ..

Yes, it took me a few hours to FINALLY get to the point where I was happy with it but it really is QUITE quick and easy to put together.  As always, it's the designing that takes the time!

Like I say, check out my live FB video Tuesday and I'll show you how to make one!

Next up is the ADORABLE card I made for my Stamp-a-Stack.  I only just got this bundle last week.  Once again I was quite sure I didn't "need" this bundle.  Once again I was wrong.  This was SO quick to come together ... and quick is HARD for me, so I'm THRILLED I got it!  Check it out:
So cute!  T?his is 100% different than what I had pictured in my mind .. but that's what I love about designing.  I just play and go with what feels right and end up with something totally different!

I only used one ink colour - Night of Navy.  My ORIGINAL attempts used Seaside Spray!.  I sued a 1" strip of Night of Navy and flag ended it with my Triple Banner Punch.  I stamped the sentiment right on the card base and the two snow buddies on scrap paper and cut them out with my stitched oval and circle framelits.  Used my Mango Melody and Real Red markers for the noses and scarf/hat, popped up the circle dude on dimensionals and added some (retired) snowflake sequins.  Bam!  Done!

I LOVE when I can make a card using the stamps from just one set!  I DID originally want to add another banner or two of varying widths using the coordinating designer paper but, after searching for it for about 20 minutes I realized I don't HAVE any (I knew I bought it but that was for my paper share and I didn't have any left!) but, in the end, like it with just the solid Navy.

If this weren't a card for a Stamp-a-Stack I would have used the Puff Paint to make the snow puffy but in a SAS class it's one more step that takes up too much time so not this round.

That's it!  I'm off to grab another cup of Joe and get a few things done before I start cutting for my calendar class tomorrow morning.  If you're in the Edmonton area and are free, I'd love for you to come!  Drop me a message!

Have a stampy day :)

  1. A wonderful and compact-sized calendar. Doing DIY is fascinating. Making a desk calendar or any DIY calendar is thoughtful.
