Summer Sunshine - Pretty Pop Ups Meets Best Butterflies - Stampin' Creative Global Blog Hop

Happy Blog Hop Day!
Each month my friends from around the globe and I bring you projects made around a common theme.  This month the theme is "Summer Sunshine".  We hope what me made for you inspires you to try a new technique, grab a new stamp set or try a new colour combination.  Let us know what you think by commenting as you hop along.

When I scanned my sets for my card my eyes immediately fell on the fun "Best Butterflies" bundle.  I played and played and played.  I grabbed different colours, different stamp sets, different dies ... and this is what I ended up with:

Does it scream "SUMMER!" to you?  It does to me!  The Parakeet Party Green, mixed with the Mango Melody Orange is an! instant pick-me-up.

The main focal point was made using the Pretty Pop Up dies.  You can get a LOT of depth by bending the cut areas upwards ...

I used my Parakeet Dark Blend and my Mango Melody Stampin' Write Marker to colour the leaves and flowers.
I used the Build a Butterfly Dies to make the smallest butterfly in that set (out of Parakeet Party) and popped it up on dimensionals.  I added the metallic ribbon bow for an accent.  I added our Glossy Assorted Dots and Basic Rhinestones amongst the flowers and butterflies, and added Wink of Stella to the butterflies and dragonfly.  Finally, I stamped the sentiment from Best Butterflies in Parakeet Party, taped the white layer to a Mango Melody layer and popped the whole thing up on dimensionals.

A VERY simple card that just took minutes to colour and pull together.  These Pretty Pop Up dies are fun to play with. Give them a try!

Thanks for popping in.  Hop along to see what my friends made for you .. and have a stampy day!

Floating Elements / Floating Frame Cards

 Happy Wednesday!

We interrupt our regularly scheduled program to bring you a random blog post lol.  Yes, there are 47 things on me "yay-list" that I really should be working on, but I['m just so stinkin' excited about these cards I HAD to do a quick post to share them with you!

Last night, on my CIOT (Check It Out Tuesday) Facebook Live, I decided to try making my very first "Floating Elements" card.  What is a Floating Element card?  It's a card whereby the focal point is a shape (element) that appears to be floating.  You attach 1/4" strips of paper to a piece of acetate/window sheet and then cut a shape out of it.  You pop the shape up on dimensionals and embellish for a quick "WOW!" card.  Check these out!

LOVE LOVE LOVE!

For the first card, I used the Boughs of Holly Designer Paper and matching Beautiful Boughs dies.  For the second, the Sweetest Christmas and Sweet Candy Canes Bundle.  The sentiment is from Brightest Glow.

*Tamara's Tips:  You can use our Window Sheets to tape your strips onto ... OR you can use the acetate sheets that our Photopolymer Stamps come on!  Waste not, want not!

You can bet your bottom dollar I will be making for of THESE cards!  Here is my YouTube replay from my CIOT Live.

If you're interested in catching me LIVE, every Tuesday night at 7:00 pm MT, you can find me on my Facebook Page "Tamara's Paper Trail" - click here to head there!

I hope you give this technique a try!  REALLY fun (and easy!).  Thanks for popping in.  Have a stampy day!

Colouring Cards Flashback - Kylie's Trip Achievers Blog Hop

 Happy Blog Hop Day!

Every month, my friends from around the globe and I bring you projects made with current Stampin' Up! products.  We hope to inspire you with what we share.  Like it?  Leave a comment!

This month I took a total BLAST FROM THE PAST!  Who remembers when we had Stampin' Wheels?  Hands up for those who still HAVE them and can't part with some of the adorable animal wheels we had?  Remember the barnyard animal one??  My personal fave!  There was a craze back then, for kids cards, and the Peekaboo Farm set inspired me to bring that craze back.  Check out my cards!

Ska-WHEEEEELLLL!  I love them so much! lol!  They take approximately 6 minutes to make!  Oh sure, they're not great for mailing (broken crayons make me sad!) ... but they are a FUN card to attach to a present for in-person giving!  Of course you can jazz them up with more stamping and/or embellishments but you certainly don't have to for an adorable card.

FUN FACT:  Did you know that you can go to Staples and buy SINGLE CRAYONS????  WHAAAAAATTTT?  TRUE STORY!  They sell crayons in packs but they ALSO sell them by the crayon!  You could go buy 20 brown and 20 grey crayons, if that's what you want.  WHO KNEW???  (I can't tell you how many PACKS of crayons I have purchased over the years just to get the WHITE crayon for crayon/wax resist techniques!)

You attach the crayons with glue dots - poke holes in the white layer with your Take Your Pick tool and feed ribbon through the holes to tie in a bow.  BAM!  6 minute card.

I'm listing the primary products used below, but not the inks, papers, or ribbons - use what you like for the critters and colour combinations you choose!

Would you like a full PDF Tutorial for these cards, as well as 9 MORE quick and easy Children's Card for Beginner Stampers?  You can purchase the tutorial from me for $20 ... or it is yours FREE with an online order of ANY amount through my store.  Click the link over in the right hand side bar for that.  Order that use the Host Code XET2YWV4 at the checkout will get and extra gift from me!

I hope you like my cards as much as I do!  It's nice to have a super quick, easy layout for kid's cards at your fingertips!

Thanks for popping in - now hop along and see what my friends have in store for you! ... and have a stampy day!
