Inspirational Sketches Simplicity - Kylie's Trip Achiever Blog Hop
It's Blog Hop Day! Welcome TO the Trip Achievers Blog Hop! Each month my friends from around the Globe and I bring you projects made with current Stampin' Up! products. We hope to inspire and delight you with what we came up with. Click on all the names near the bottom of the post and you will be taken to their blogs to check out their projects.
This month I'm sharing one of THE easiest layouts you can use. This first one is actually the most "stepped up" version, simply because I embossed both layers. Scroll through all the photos to see some variations.
I used the Inspirational Sketches stamp set that is in the J-A Mini Catalogue. It's a lovely little set that I have now officially used more than any other so far this catalogue. Why? I LOVE the images! At first I feared I wouldn't use it because it would be a pain to colour ... then I realized it didn't HAVE to be coloured! Check this out ...
See? The images are sketch images. (The clue is in the stamp set title, Tamara! Sheesh!) To me, "sketch" means pencil art. Pencils are gray .. so why not stamp them in gray and be done?? You absolutely CAN! In fact, lower down you will see I stamped a note card just on the card base - NO LAYERS! Added a sentiment and some embellishments and DONE! The one above and the next few (as I said) are the "hardest" versions ... but they aren't HARD at all - I simply ran the top layer through and embossing folder after I had stamped it! This is an easy way to make a card LOOK fancier without much added work. You are simply adding texture, which "softens" all the white space on the card base.
I fussy cut the sentiment, added twine and sequins, ran the gray layer through the embossing folder, and popped the whole thing up on dimensionals! SO quick and easy!
Check out these next two cards. They are made the same way, but these ones don't have the gray layer run through the embossing folder, making them just as lovely but a bit quicker to pull together.
This one is made with the "Next Destination" set and Pebbled Path products ...
The next two cards are easier still, as the top layer ISN'T run through the embossing folder. This is the perfect card for a beginner stamper or one who is short on time.
This one is simply done on a note card. SO quick. SO cute!
Here they all are in the four different stages of "difficulty". Note card, no embossing, top layer embossed and both layers embossed.
I think this stamp set is one that can easily be overlooked but once you see how quick it can be to use and how lovely the cards turn out you will want it! Used other sentiments (I used Layer Leaves set) to increase the versatility of the set. These images are great for most occasions! Sympathy, Thinking Of You, Birthday, Just Because, Get Well ... Get it! You won't regret it!
I showed my viewers how to put make this card during my Monday night live this week. You can watch the replay here:
