From Basic to Advanced - Easy as 1, 2, 3! MCM layout July 7, 2025

Heidi Ho, Friends! Hope you're having a great day! I am :). It's my birthday! ... so i'm just doing some "chair work", catching up on a few things and chatting with friends. Tonight My Love is making me a steak dinner (he makes the BEST steak!) - then presents and ice cream. I am so blessed xoxoxoxo

Meantime, I'm excite to share my projects from MCM last night! This layout is about as easy/simple as they come! Literally - a card base, a large image and a sentiment. Snazz it up with a layer (embossed, if you like) and some embellishments. Who needs "all the things"?!? Well ... I do, but that's another post for another day lol. Here are my cards from last night ...

Easy, right? This next picture is the process you take from "basic" to stepped up. The first one is literally just the card base ... sponged colour ... coloured birds ... sentiment ... few basic embellishments and DONE! The second one is the same, but add a layer. The third one has the layer embossed. 1, 2, 3 EXPERT level!

Of course my favourite it the third one.

These next ones all use the "stepped up" layout. NONE of them are hard!

Notice that this layer has the embossing just in the MIDDLE of the layer. Watch my video (below) to see how I managed THAT!

As always, my layouts are a great "jumping off" point. Something not working for you? Change it! On this one, the floral image was a bit too tall for my liking, so I changed the orientation of the base, Boom! Love it! Same pieces - just changed it a bit to make it work.
