WOW Cards - Stampin' Creative Global Blog Hop

Happy Blog Hop Day!  It's the Stampin' Creative Global Blog Hop this time.  My friends and I are bringing you projects we've made around the theme "WOW Cards".  What determines a card to be a "WOW"?  That's subjective.  It CAN be a clean and simple card that makes you say "WOW!  Gorgeous, yet quick and easy to make!".  In Tamara-Land, however, a WOW card tend to be lot of layers and dimension.  The card I came up with is a total "Tamara-Card"!  Check it out ...

I'm not 100% happy with the way it photographs - "in person" it really does make you say WOW!

I used the Cottage Rose Bundle of products for my card (we tend to forget about our Annual Catalogue favourites once the Mini Catalogues come out!)

The white layers are embossed with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder and the white flower is actually heat embossed on ACETATE!  Oh sure, I could have achieved a similar look embossing it directly on the Early Espresso card stock but adding the acetate REALLY steps it up to a WOW card!

These are the dimensions, working from the base up to the top layer:
Basic White card base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"
Early Espresso layer - 4 1/2" x 3 1/4"
Basic White layer - 4 3/8" x 3 1/8" - run through the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder
Early Espresso layer - 4 1/8" x 2 7/8"
Basic White Top Layer - 4" x 2 3/4" - run through the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder
Sentiment - 3/4" x 3 1/2" - flag ended
3 1/2" x 3 1/2" square each of Early Espresso and a piece of Acetate.  You can't see the acetate well in the photo but it's there .. and it's popped up on the Early Espresso shape using a single dimensional in the centre of the flower.  More dimension!

I finished it off with three Rustic Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots that I coloured with my SU100 Blend Marker .  BAM!  WOW!

There is more cutting than usual for this card, but it is't "hard" to make.  I just love it!  I hope you do too!

W-V Fold Card for an easy WOW card!

 Heidi Ho Friends!

Yes, today is one of those rare days where I do a Blog Post that ISN'T part of a blog hop!  I just HAD to share another Fun Fold card I made yesterday.  It's called a W-V Card.  I had never heard of this particular one, but stumbled across the layout on Facebook Yesterday so off to Uncle Google I went.  He's very smart, is Uncle Google.  He never lets me down lol.  This is what I came up with:

You can see why it's called a W-V card ... the top of it makes a "W" and the bottom is a "V" ...
Here it is closed.
... and open ...
FUN, right?  I watched a YouTube video that Rachel Tessman made - she's over on stampyourartout.com - thanks Rachel!  Here are the dimensions you need to make my card:

Shaded Spruce Card Base - 5 1/2" x 11"
  • score on long side at 4", 5 3/4", 7 1/2" and 9 1/4"
Shaded Spruce top panel - 3" x 6"
  • score on long side at 3"
Three pieces of Basic White - 2 7/8" x 2 7/8"
Three piece of Designer Paper - I used a sheet from the Host set, Celebrate Everything - 1 1/2" x 5 1/4"
One piece of coordinating Designer Paper - I used some retired Assorted Regals DSP - 2 3/4" x 2 3/4"

The assembly is pretty straight forward.  Below I'll link my FB Live video from last night to show you how, along with a few tips and tricks.

I used the All Bundled Up stamp set, using Washi Tape to alter the sentiment from "You're the Coolest" to "You're Cool".  Watch the video to show how I did that.

The Happy Birthday sentiment is from the Celebrate with Tags stamp set, stamped in Shaded Spruce ink

I coloured Mr. Mossey with Light and Dark Crumb Cake Blends, Light and Dark Shaded Spruce Blends, and Light Pool Party Blend (for the bird).

The embellishments are the Adhesive Backed Seasonal Sequins.

Here is the link to my YouTube video ... don't forget to Subscribe when you're over there!

Give this layout a try!  It's SO easy but SO fun!  Thanks for popping in.  Have a stampy day!

Front Flap Fold Card - Trip Achievers Blog Hop

Happy Blog Hop Day!

Each month, my friends from around the world and I bring you Stampin' Up! projects made with current product.  We hope they inspire you to try a new layout, technique or to reach for some stamp sets, inks and paper you haven't used yet (whaaaaat??  Product we've bought but haven't USED??  Surely NOT! lol).

Here is a Fun Fold card I made last week for an event I co-hosted with 11 other Canadian Leaders.  Every quarter we put on an all day event for our teams.  This was the project I shared ...

I just LOVE it!  I believe it's called a Front Flap Fold Card ... and it's SO easy to create!  I got my inspiration from a swap card I received from Shauna Mikuliak last year.  This layout is SO versatile!  Just change up your papers, grab a sentiment and some embellishments and BAM!  Done!

For my card I used:

Night of Navy Base - 5 1/2" x 4 1/4"

Snowflake Specialty Vellum - 5 1/4" x 4"

Night of Navy Flap - 8 1/2" x 3 1/4"

Snowflake Specialty Vellum - 3" x 4"

Night of Navy Insert - 3" x 3 1/2"

White Insert - 2 3/4" x 3 1/4"

Joyful Flurry Stamp Set; Night of Navy Ink; Wonderful Snowflake Embellishment; Adhesive Backed Sequins & Gems

It comes together SO quickly!  This is a GREAT layout that you will use over and over.  Keep it in your stash to CASE for years to come!

Thanks for popping in .. now hop along and see what my friends have made for you.  Have a stampy day!
