Flowering Tulips Double Z Fun Fold - Stampin' Creative Global Blog Hop

Happy Blog Hop Day!

Every month my friends and I bring you projects made using current Stampin' Up! products around a common theme.  This month the theme is "Fun Fold" cards.  Who doesn't love a great Fun Fold???  I DO!  I'm ALWAYS on the lookout for something a little different, yet still quick and easy to pull together.  The fold I decided on was the "Double-Z" fold.  Check it out!

Have you ever made one of these?  They LOOK hard but are crazy quick and easy!

Step 1:  Cut your card base - 4 1/4" x 11"
Step 2:  Fold it at 5 1/2" and burnish
Step 3:  Fold the front of the card base back on itself, creating a "z"
Step 4:  Cut a piece of coloured card stock 9 3/4" x 3 1/4"
Step 5:  Score that piece of coloured card stock at 3 1/4" and 6 1/2" and fold into a "z"
Step 6:  Cut Designer Papers and attach to your card base and your coloured "z" piece:
  • 5 1/4" X 4" (for the inside of the card base)
  • 2 1/2" X 4" (for the front of the card base)
  • 3" X 3" (for the inside of the coloured "z" piece)
Step 7:  Tape your coloured card stock "z" to the base
Step 8:  Cut two 3" x 3" white squares and attach to your coloured "z" piece
Step 9:  Decorate as desired

I love it!  Truly a Fun Fold!

Soaring Swallows - Kylie's Trip Achievers Blog Hop

Happy Blog Hop Day!  Thanks for popping in!  Each month, SU Demonstrators from around the globe come together to share projects with us using only current Stampin' Up! products.  We hope they inspire you to create!

This month I wanted to play with the "Soaring Swallows" set that is in the Jan-June 2022 Mini Catalogue.  I wasn't struck by the bundle when I first saw it ... but at the BACK of the catalogue there are additional bundle samples and THERE was a card that made me NEED it!  It actually wasn't the swallow image that grabbed me, it was the branch of FLOWERS!  So, here is my project, making that branch the star of the show ...
Isn't it pretty???  Yes, sponging and attaching all those flowers IS fiddly and this isn't a card for mass-producing ... but it IS a card made with love for a very dear friend and is a GREAT one to putz with if/when you need a little break from the stresses of your day.  I THOROUGHLY enjoyed putting this one together.

I used:

Basic White Card Base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"
Sahara Sand layer - 5" x 3 3/4"
Basic white layer - 4 3/4" x 3 1/2" - run through the Painted Texture 3-D Embossing Folder
Branch - Soft Succulent
Flowers - Polished Pink and Basic White, sponged with a finger dauber using Polished Pink Ink
Sentiment is from the retired SAB "Calming Camellia" set (ACK - sorry!  Almost ANY sentiment will do on this card!).  I stamped the sentiment on vellum, using Polished Pink ink, covered it in Clear Emboss Powder and heat set it.
Clear Epoxy Essentials for few drops of dew
I love the soft, quiet "feel" of this card.  It's PERFECT to give to my "person" - she DOES make me smile!

I suspect this bundle will be retiring May 2, 2022 ... but as of March 23rd, all products in the mini catalogue are only "while supplies last" ... so don't wait if you love it.  Get it in March!  If you're in Canada, you can shop my store through the link on the side bar.  All the items I used to make this project are at the end of this post.  Every order in March qualifies for my retired BOGO items of equal value for FREE!  If you're in Canada you can request to join my FaceBook BOGO group here.

Thank you for checking out my project.  Now hop along and see what my friends have created to share with you!  Have a stampy day!

Home Sweet Home - Stampin' Creative Global Blog Hop

Happy Blog Hop Day!  Every month my friends from around the world and I bring you projects made with current (at the time of posting) Stampin' Up! products surrounding a common theme.  THIS month the theme is "Home Sweet Home".  To be honest, I found this challenge really tough!  I kept trying to conjure up image of Home Sweet Home but I just couldn't find anything that fit with my current products.  SO much of what "came up" were feelings, rather than images (other than a white house with a picket fence around it!).   Home Sweet Home had me thinking of that feeling when you walk in the door after a vacation ... or the feeling on a rainy Sunday afternoon ... or an afternoon nap.  Feelings of peace, security and quiet.  I was talking to my friend, Tracey, and asked what images came to mine for HER when I said Home Sweet Home.  She immediately said "the image from In the Moment with the lady reading under the covers with the dog" ... and that's how I ended up here.  Yes!  PERFECT!  That image IS Home Sweet Home ... and here is my SUPER quick, easy, no-stress card ...
SUCH a quick, easy, clean card ... and one that gives you the feeling of calm and relaxation.

I used several different stamp sets and products to make it ...
The Designer Paper is the Good Fortune paper, found in the Jan-June 2022 mini catalogue
The window and window frame/sill is from the Welcoming Window dies, called Window Flower Box dies
The main image of the woman and dog are from In the Moment
The birds and sentiment are from On the Horizon

The base is our standard 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" Basic White
The Evening Evergreen layer is 3 5/8" x 4 7/8"
The Basic White top layer is 3 1/2" x 4 3/4"
The Symbols of Fortune piece is 2 1/4" x 3"

I simply cut the window out of the top layer, taped taped the designer paper behind it (AFTER stamping the birds on it) and then glued the window frame on top of the designer paper.  I stamped the sentiment in Evening Evergreen, taped it to the Evening Evergreen layer and popped the whole thing up on the card base, using dimensionals.

I stamped our relaxed reader and her dog in Memento Black ink and coloured them with my light and dark Soft Succulent Blends.  I added a touch of Wink of Stella to her book and coffee cup , a rhinestone to her hair band and a string of rhinestones under the sentiment.  I fussy cut the image out and popped it up on dimensionals.  BAM!  Done!

A relaxed image that really screams "Home Sweet Home".  Thank you, Tracey, for the inspiration.  I love this card!
