Grateful Gratitude with Heron Habitat - Stampin' Creative Global Blog Hop

Happy Blog Hop Day!

Every month my friends from around the globe bring you projects made with Stampin' Up! products around a common theme.  This month the theme is "Grateful Gratitude".  I love that!  There is so much room for interpretation and creativity!  I have been itching to use a bundle from the Annual Catalogue that I bought AGES ago, called Heron Habitat.  Check it out!

I just LOVE the clean, monochromatic look of it!  ... and the FONT!  You KNOW I love me a good font!

Basic White Card Base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"

Mossy Meadow Layer - 3 3/4" x 5"

Soft Seafoam Layer - 3 5/8" x 4 7/8"

Basic White Layer - 3 1/2" x 4 3/4"

  • I cut a hole in the top White Layer using the 2 1/2" Stylish Shapes Circle die.  I added a 3" x 3" piece of Designer Paper from the Splendid Day Designer Paper.
  • I attached each of the three layers together using Stampin' Seal and then popped the whole kit and kaboodle up on dimensionals.
  • I stamped the heron in Mossy Meadow ink and popped that up on dimensionals
  • I die cut the grass/reeds out of Mossy Meadow paper and popped it up on mini dimensionals.
  • The sentiment is stamped in Mossy Meadow Classic Ink.
  • I added three Brushed Metallic Dots and some Wink of Stella to finish it off.

A quick, crisp card to express my gratitude.  I hope you like it!

Fall Treats - Kylie's Trip Achievers Blog Hop

Happy Blog Hop Day!

Each month, my Demonstrator Friends from around the globe and I come together and share projects we've created, using Stampin' Up! products.  We hope we can inspire and delight you with what we share.  We love getting feedback so please don't hesitate to leave us comments as you hop along.

Enjoy!

MY project this month is a CRAZY quick and easy Fall Treat.  They are SO fun to make ... and to give away.  EVERYONE loves getting a little something "just because"!  Check it out!

Isn't it FUN???

I found these pre-stamped "Rae Dunn" cups at "Marshalls" (... and at Winners and at Home Sense - they are all the same parent company and often carry the exact same products).  This is in Canada - I'm not sure if they have these stores in other countries.  Hobby Lobby, Michaels, JoAnn in the USA likely carry similar items.

All I did to jazz them up Stampin' Up! style was to embellish with ribbon and a tag!

I found some of our old Kraft Rope Trip (sorry, retired) in my stash to tie around the cup.

I stamped "grateful" from the Soft Seedlings stamp set (in Early Espresso) and some splotches from Perched in a Tree.  I added our current Faux Suede ribbon to the back of one of our Leaf Labels using Tear & Tape and attached the label to the cup using Linen twine.  Some of the Amber Rhinestones from the label/amber combo pack finished it off.

The cups hold SO many yummy treats!  I get most of mine from Costco.

I cracked off all 8 cups in less than an hour and now want to make more.  Who can you give these to?  ANYONE!  Your mail man, bus driver, bank teller, UPS driver, neighbour, kids' teachers and coaches, customers ... ALLLL the people!
I hope this project inspires you to make something similar and that you give them out.  I promise, it will give the recipient a smile!

Thanks for popping in.  Click on the links below to head over to my friends' blogs to see that THEY came up with this month.

Have a stampy day!

WOW Cards - Stampin' Creative Global Blog Hop

Happy Blog Hop Day!  It's the Stampin' Creative Global Blog Hop this time.  My friends and I are bringing you projects we've made around the theme "WOW Cards".  What determines a card to be a "WOW"?  That's subjective.  It CAN be a clean and simple card that makes you say "WOW!  Gorgeous, yet quick and easy to make!".  In Tamara-Land, however, a WOW card tend to be lot of layers and dimension.  The card I came up with is a total "Tamara-Card"!  Check it out ...

I'm not 100% happy with the way it photographs - "in person" it really does make you say WOW!

I used the Cottage Rose Bundle of products for my card (we tend to forget about our Annual Catalogue favourites once the Mini Catalogues come out!)

The white layers are embossed with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder and the white flower is actually heat embossed on ACETATE!  Oh sure, I could have achieved a similar look embossing it directly on the Early Espresso card stock but adding the acetate REALLY steps it up to a WOW card!

These are the dimensions, working from the base up to the top layer:
Basic White card base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"
Early Espresso layer - 4 1/2" x 3 1/4"
Basic White layer - 4 3/8" x 3 1/8" - run through the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder
Early Espresso layer - 4 1/8" x 2 7/8"
Basic White Top Layer - 4" x 2 3/4" - run through the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder
Sentiment - 3/4" x 3 1/2" - flag ended
3 1/2" x 3 1/2" square each of Early Espresso and a piece of Acetate.  You can't see the acetate well in the photo but it's there .. and it's popped up on the Early Espresso shape using a single dimensional in the centre of the flower.  More dimension!

I finished it off with three Rustic Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots that I coloured with my SU100 Blend Marker .  BAM!  WOW!

There is more cutting than usual for this card, but it is't "hard" to make.  I just love it!  I hope you do too!
